Jersey City has given Snooki and JWoww the green light for their new Jersey Shore spinoff but first, they had to agree to some strict terms.
According to TMZ, officials would not grant a permit unless they agreed to a strong police presence.
The show will be required to have at least four police officers to be stationed at the home Snooki and JWoww will be staying at. In addition, the cops must stay with the cast and crew when the girls leave the house. They will be keeping their distance, but they will be watching closely.
They have been warned that if any cops were to be called because of something occurring as a result of the show, producers must reimburse Jersey City for any costs related to the matter.
The Huffington Post reports that Jersey City taxpayers will not be the ones paying for this security. The production company of the show will be paying for the off-duty police officers that will be keeping an eye on the girls.
The production crew also mentioned that they would not be taking parking spots from residents. Instead, they will be using pay lots.
Just last week, Hoboken denied the show a permit, worrying about both safety and quality of life for the residents.
The Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy thinks differently. He believes that the show will be an opportunity to promote the city.
Production for this Jersey Shore spinoff will begin later this month. Pauly D is also set to have his own spinoff of Jersey Shore.
