John Manfre appears in court after being found with Ketamine last year

John "The Unit" Manfre, who has been seen on MTV's Jersey Shore, has pleaded not guilty to a possession charge.

Manfre, friend of Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, was arrested in Seaside Heights, NJ last year when he was found in possession of Ketamine, a powerful horse tranquilizer.

Manfre has recently appeared in court with his lawyer, Raymond Raya.

According to The Inquisitr, Raya stated, "There were some issues regarding my client's constitutional rights." He then went on the explain, "We entered the not guilty plea NOT because that's the normal thing to do...we actually entered the not guilty plea because we believe that based on those issues, John is not guilty."

It is still unclear as to what rights were allegedly violated.

Manfre was arrested at the well-known Jersey Shore house. He has appeared on the show this season, stirring up tension between "The Situation," Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, and her boyfriend, Jionni. He is also know for producing a workout DVD with "The Situation."

After being arrested, Manfre made a comment on his Twitter, "There are bumps in every road & sometimes we hit a pothole. All we can do is put on the spare and keep it moving towards our destination!"

Manfre's attorney stated, "We expect a very favorable outcome," quoted by TMZ.

Jersey Shore is currently in its 5th season. Shore star, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, has talked about the possibility of filming a 6th and 7th season in Las Vegas and Australia earlier today according to The Huffington Post.
