Jessica Simpson Booed at Concert
Simpson tries her hand at singing country music.
Jessica Simpson, who opened at a concert for country singer Sara Evans this past weekend, heard smatterings of boos, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Simpson, who was singing at the 15th annual Country Thunder USA Festival in Randall, Wisc., dedicated the song, "You're My Sunday," to boyfriend Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback who was sitting in the audience. She also performed a few covers in addition to her new single, "Come on Over."
"I don't know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I'm just a girl from Texas," Simpson told the crowd, according to Us Weekly. "I'm just like you. I'm doing what I love and dating a boy."
