Jessica Simpson Hospitalized
Pop star Jessica Simpson was hospitalized in Los Angeles over the weekend because of a kidney infection, according to PEOPLE.
Her representative tells the entertainment magazine that the singer "has been released and is doing fine."
Simpson, 27, checked herself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday after suffering a fever for the days leading up to hospitalization.
Earlier this month, Simpson took a trip to Iraq where she performed for the American troops. After her pop career, and that of many others, has been faltering in recent years amongst the same demographic that drove her to musical stardom, Simpson has decided to start working on a country album.
Simpson is better known in society today because of her show "Newlyweds" with ex-husband Nick Lachey, and some of her antics on that show. More recently Simpson has become involved with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, and there were even rumors of Simpson and Romo getting married this past weekend while Simpson was in the hospital.
