Jimmy Fallon Finally Finishes His College Career
Fallon received his bachelor's degree in Communications at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y., Saturday, reports People.
A task that only took 17 years gave the new college grad plenty of time to write his graduation speech. In addition to graduating, the late night host and former SNL star served as the keynote speaker at the commencement.
The 34-year-old funny man took this as a time to encourage his classmates.
"There's always going to be someone out there like that movie critic, who doesn't believe in you or who thinks your head is too big or you're not smart enough or whatever," Fallon said, reports the Associated Press. "But those are the people you need to ignore, and those are the times you need to just keep doing what you love doing."
According to local television station WNYT's Web site, Fallon started classes in 1992 but stopped going. He recently turned in a portfolio, and the school considered it worthy of a degree in communications.
