Joe Francis Wins His Case Against the IRS

Joe Francis no longer owes the government $33 million in back taxes.
The IRS put a $33 million tax lien against the Girls Gone Wild producer in November.
Francis filed a lawsuit claiming the IRS was mad after he made a misdemeanor plea deal in his felony tax fraud cause. He said that within 3 hours of the time he walked out of the courthouse a free man, the IRS unlawfully froze the money.
According to the lawsuit, the only circumstances under which assets can be frozen before getting a court judgment is if it seems as though the taxpayer is about to flee the country or if the taxpayer is trying to move assets out of reach.
Francis won the courtcase, but was seemingly unaware of this.
When TMZ contacted Francis he seemed to be unaware of this situation and said, "Really? I paid it?"
Francis later called back to inform TMZ that he "thinks" the lien was released, which means the government dropped it, but that he didn't actually pay anything.
