Joe Jonas Next "American Idol" Guest Judge
The newest celebrity to sit in Paula Abdul's vacated space on the "American Idol" judges' panel is Joe Jonas, the middle brother in the popular band the Jonas Brothers.
Jonas will joined Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson when they arrive in Dallas on Monday to audition wannabe singers for the ninth season of "Idol," which premieres in January.
According to MTV.com, this is the second time the 19-year-old has left the safety of his brotherhood band to strike out on his own. Jonas will appear in the upcoming film "Valentine's Day" alongside several other teenage sensations, including Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black in the Twilight Saga films, and older Hollywood big names, such as Julia Roberts and Patrick Dempsey.
Jonas joins singers Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, and Katy Perry, as well as former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham in the list of celebrities filling in for Abdul until she is permanently replaced. Jessica Simpson and "Idol" season one winner Kelly Clarkson were also rumored to be future guest judges, but their representatives have confirmed that neither of the women have plans to judge on the show anytime soon.
