Joey Lawrence takes his final bow

The actor is the last to be eliminated before next week's "Dancing With the Stars" finale.

Glowing reviews from the judges and a nearly perfect quickstep were not enough to save actor Joey Lawrence from elimination on Wednesday's "Dancing With the Stars" results show.

Lawrence was the final competitor to be eliminated before next week's finale showdown, with NFL player Emmitt Smith and his professional partner Cheryl Burke facing off against "Saved By the Bell" star Mario Lopez and his partner Karina Smirnoff.

"It's been a wonderful ride, really," Lawrence said on the results show. "We were a dark horse from day one and to make it this far feels amazing."

Lawrence will return, along with other current and former contestants, on this month's "Dancing With the Stars: The Tour." Joey McIntyre, Lisa Rinna and last year's winner Drew Lachey are among the stars lacing up their dancing shoes once again for the show's loyal fans.

Smith and Lopez will compete for the viewer's votes one more time Tuesday night, followed by the Wednesday night finale.
