John Edwards suffering from life threatening heart condition

John Edwards is cruelly learning that what goes around comes around.

People reported the former presidential candidate has a life-threatening heart condition.

A federal judge released the information on Friday.

According to CNN, Edwards is preparing for his upcoming criminal corruption trial and his lawyers made a motion for a delay in court on Friday in North Carolina.

The trial was supposed to begin this month, and has been delayed until at least March 26 due to Edwards’ health.

Judge Catherine Eagles said Edwards’ cardiologist recommended the trial be delayed so that the former senator can rest before undergoing surgery next month.

According to court records, Edwards must present a written medical update to court by February 28.

And while some may see the 58-year-old’s illness as a tactic to sway jury opinion, legal expert Marcellus McRae told CNN that that was unlikely.

"Edwards's illness may prompt the public, including potential jurors, to view him in a more sympathetic light. However, it is doubtful that this will have any impact on the outcome of his trial," he said.

"Given the nature of the charges, his physical condition is of no relevance and he will have in theory recovered by the time the case went to trial in March in any event."

The disgraced senator, who cheated on his wife while she was undergoing cancer treatments and fathered a child with the woman, faces six felony and misdemeanor charges including conspiracy, releasing false statements and breaching campaign contribution laws relating to donations and payments he received for his 2008 presidential campaign.
