John-Juarez rematch scheduled for Sept. 19

Chris John and Rocky Juarez will face off in a title match on the Floyd Mayweather, Jr.-Juan Manuel Marquez undercard.

The undercard for the Sept. 19 fight between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez will feature the rematch between featherweights Chris John (42-0-2) and Rocky Juarez (28-4-1), according to ESPN.com. John and Juarez, who will be competing for the WBA featherweight title, fought to a draw in February before John pulled out of the first rematch date on account of illness.

Also on the undercard is Zab Judah, who will be facing off against Antonio Diaz at 144 pounds, and Michael Katsidis, who will fight former U.S. Olympian Vincente Escobedo. The loaded undercard is somewhat unusual considering recent years in the sport of boxing, which have shown lackluster undercards in cases of high-profile fights. Golden Boy Promotions—who are responsible for the Mayweather-Marquez fight—in particular have been accused of unimpressive undercards before main event fights involving big names like Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley.

De La Hoya, Golden Boy's owner, said, "This is what boxing has to go back to. We've come to the conclusion not only to give you a great main event but to give you, from top to bottom, fights that you really will enjoy."
