John Malkovich Set to Make Toronto Debut as a Serial Killer
Acclaimed actor John Malkovich has always been known for his memorable roles and bold acting choices. The actor will continue this impressive legacy with his upcoming stage debut in this year’s Luminato Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity. According to CBC News, Malkovich is set to portray Austrian serial killer Jack Unterweger in The Infernal Comedy: Confessions of a Serial Killer this June.
The project features a score by Michael Sturminger and music by the Vienna Academy Orchestra. In addition, the show features arias by the actors who perform the roles of Unterweger’s victims.
Malkovich will be headlining its North American debut. The show has previously been seen across Europe in various tours.
The story of Jack Unterweger is that of a condemned murderer who attempted to re-enter society with a critically celebrated autobiography. His story made him an instant celebrity. He was proven to be untrustworthy when he was paroled in 1990 and later murdered 11 women.
The play also features singers Laura Aikin and Aleksandra Zamojska.
