John McCain’s Daughter Bashes Sarah Palin on ABC’s ‘The View’

Meghan McCain addressed various topics including Sarah Palin and the conservative Tea Party movement.

Meghan McCain, the daughter of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, appeared on ABC’s The View on Tuesday where she discussed a variety of topics including her opinion of the conservative Tea Party movement, former Representative Tom Tancredo and her father’s former running mate, Republican politician Sarah Palin. She is known for not necessarily following all of her father’s political views and she was quite outspoken about her criticisms of the Tea Party movement as a whole.

McCain specifically described the movement as innate racism despite the fact that those involved with the movement have rejected the claim that their comments have been racially motivated. She elaborated on her opinion by condemning Tancredo for the language that he used in his speech during last week’s convention and stating that revolutions are put into motion by young people rather than 65-year-olds attempting to generate support for their motives, according to FoxNews.com.

During her appearance on The View, Meghan McCain also discussed seemingly hypocritical actions that were taken by her father’s former running mate Sarah Palin. She specifically responded to Palin defending controversial talk show host Rush Limbaugh after he said the word ‘retarded’ yet calling for White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to step down for using the same offensive word.

McCain said, “[That’s an example of] exactly what is wrong with politics today. We can't placate and say Democrats can say one thing and Republicans can say another thing.”

This is a great example to

This is a great example to show society that children get older and form their own opinions. It is allowed to have your own beliefs away from how you have been raised and what your parents believe in. I am glad Meghan McCain had the opportunity to express her own opinion.

Going Against Daddy

I am glad that in America everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and allowed to say what they feel is right. Good for Meghan McCain to express her feelings and let others know that she does not have to have the same views as her father and other similar political party members. She is not the only person to realize and understand that politics, in today's society, is very screwed up and everyone is contradicting themselves, which makes everything very hard to understand and grasp.
