John McCain and Snooki from ‘Jersey Shore’ Exchange Tweets

Former presidential candidate John McCain and reality television star Snooki interacted with one another

Castmembers from MTV’s popular reality series Jersey Shore are seemingly everywhere nowadays. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino made appearances at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards and the 2010 CMT Music Awards over the past few days. Polizzi and Sorrentino have been enjoying their exposure while promoting the upcoming second season of Jersey Shore, which is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, July 29, 2010.

According to The New Jersey Star Ledger, Snooki is making headlines once again due to her interactions with former presidential candidate and current Senator John McCain, a Republican politician from Arizona. McCain expressed sympathy over Snooki’s displeasure with the 10 percent tanning tax that was established as a component of the Obama administration’s healthcare reform bill.

During the 2010 MTV Movie Awards pre-show on Sunday, she expressed her frustration by saying, “I don’t go tanning anymore because Obama put a 10 percent tax on tanning. And I feel like he did that intentionally for us. McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning because he’s pale and he’d probably want to be tan.”

In response to her complaints, Senator McCain tweeted Snooki, “U r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama’s tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. But I do rec wearing sunscreen!”
