John Travolta and family make an appearence at D23 Expo

Fans are seeing John Travolta back in the public eye once more.

It's been nine moths since the death of his 16-year-old son, Jett.

His wife, Kelly Preston, daughter Ella Bleu and Travolta were seen Friday. They were out to promote his new Disney film "Old Dogs." They were introduced to surprised and elated fans during the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif.

Everyone in the family appears in the film which makes for Ella's first big screen debut. People quoted him as saying "I always appreciate the audience's love for me."

The actor has been out of the spotlight for a little while to take some alont time and grieve in private.

Preston however has been seen alongside Miley Cyrus in her film "The Last Song." She was supposed to speak at the Govener's Conference for Women but she decided against it.

The panel she was to participate in was titled "Gried & Resilience," a subject she wasn't ready to touch so soon after Jett's death.
