John Travolta Gets Animated in Bolt
Animated films have become one of the most popular genres for films. In 2008, three of the top ten films are animated. On Friday, Disney and Pixar will release the latest soon-to-be-blockbuster in the genre, Bolt. The film debuted in Hollywood Monday, complete with juice boxes and macaroni and cheese.
This is Travolta's first animated film, and he has turned down several animated projects in the past, waiting for something he considered timeless. With Bolt, he said he has finally gotten "in touch with my inner dog." Travolta has seen his friends, Tom Hanks and Robin Williams, score big with animated movies, and with Bolt, he believes he has signed on to a project that will make him top dog at the box office, and in children's hearts.
The film tells the story of a German shepherd who is a TV super hero, and has come to believe he really has powers. He is lost in New York City, and is trying to find his way home to Los Angeles and his owner, played by Miley Cyrus.
Bolt opens in theaters across the U.S. on Friday.
