Johnny Depp a Concrete Icon
The actor gets honored on Hollywood Boulevard
Johnny Depp's brilliance has been set in stone. The actor placed his hands and feet in wet concrete on the sidewalk in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard Friday, making his signature and prints permanent symbols of his career accomplishments.
The ceremony coincides with the release of "Corpse Bride," Depp's fifth collaboration with director Tim Burton, who worked with the actor in films such as "Edward Scissorhands", "Ed Wood," and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." The film opened in limited theaters on Friday and will expand to wide release next weekend.
Depp is currently continuing his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, filming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 3."
