Johnny Depp will hit the big screens October 28 for his new movie, The Rum Diary, but fans are now turning their attention to another one of his upcoming projects.
E! News has good movies for Depp fans. The site reported the star won't just be making a cameo in the movie adaptation of 21 Jump Street, as previously believed.
Although all the details are being tightly kept under wraps, the movie's principal actor, Jake Johnson, told E! exclusively, "It's more than just a moment."
Johnson added Depp wasn't the only actor vying for the role.
"It's a really fun part and I went to my agent after [I auditioned] and I was like, 'Hey man, I killed it!'" the New Girl actor said.
"I was like...I think I've got a really good shot. And he goes, 'For which character?' and I said the character and he goes, 'Yeah, you know, that's Johnny Depp's part if he wants it.'"
According to Entertainment Weekly, the address isn't new to Depp at all. In fact, his break out role was Tom Hanson, an undercover high school cop, in the original TV show.
However, it doesn't look like Depp will reprise his TV role for the movie. He told EW, "It might be difficult to spot me in this one right off the bat. I'll be a little...different."
The movie also features Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, and it's directed by Phil Lord and Cloudy with a Chance's Chris Miller.
