Johnny Weir Excluded from 'Stars on Ice' Tour

Weir responds to his exclusion.

After being left out from the Stars on Ice tour, Johnny Weir, a popular professional figure skater, responded to this exclusion.

The two-time Olympian was apparently not "family friendly" enough according to the tour's sponsor, Smucker's.

According to Access Hollywood, Weir told Billy Bush on The Billy Bush Show:

“I’ve never been invited to do Stars on Ice before, which is the only figure skating tour in the U.S., and it’s disappointing that I can’t perform for my American fans… all because I’m not ‘family friendly’ enough.”

Weir, a three-time U.S. National Champion, said that he will miss seeing his devoted fans.

Instead of letting himself be excluded, Weir has decided to do something about it. Weir mentioned his desire for his own tour with big musical acts, such as Lady Gaga.

Weir does not think that he was excluded because of his flamboyant outfits or perceived sexuality.

The representative for the Stars on Ice tour simply said that there was no more room on the tour for more stars, and that in no way were they discriminating against gender identity.

The current cast of Stars on Ice include Evan Lysacek and Jeremy Abbott.
