Jolie and Pitt Gave $8 Million to Charity
According to People, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt donated over $8 million to charities in 2006, with Pitt contributing $4,402,317, and Jolie putting in $4,123,613, according to newly released federal tax filing information.
These donations include giving $1 million to both the International Division of Doctors Without Borders and to the Global AIDS Alliance.
The famous couple's donations also include $137,935 to the Namibia Red Cross Action Program as part of an ongoing effort to contribute to the African country where their daughter Shiloh was born, according to E! News. They also donated $100,000 each to the Daniel Pearl Foundation, Global Green U.S.A. and to the Epidermolysis Bulloma Medical Research Foundation.
As for 2007, Pitt's Make It Right Foundation has raised $5 million to assist in rebuilding New Orleans, and his Not On Our Watch organization which Pitt cofounded with his Ocean 11 costars has raised more than $9.3 million since it was started in May, according to E! News.
Jolie and Pitt are the parents of Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 22 months. The couple is also expecting their second and maybe third biological child.
