Jon and Kate Make It Official

The reality couple make the ultimate decision on their relationship.

Speculated for weeks, the news is finally a reality – Jon and Kate Gosselin are getting divorced.

Today, June 22, Kate filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years. Tonight, the couple announced on an hour-long special of their TLC show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," that they were separating.

People reports that Jon and Kate both released statements on the situation. Kate said, "While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself."

Jon said, "Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn't change that."

In terms of their hit series, both Gosselins say that the show will go on.
