Jon and Kate Plus Eight - "It's a Crazy Life, But It's Our Life"
Kate dislikes ends and she already feels sad about missing the set. She's saddened by the way the show ended. Kate always tries to find the good in life and she knows that the children had an opportunity to see the world and Kate was able to provide for the family. She knows the children already miss the show. Jon on the other hand learned about himself, he learned to grow up. He thought that maybe he reverted back to when he was 23 again. He didn't realize his actions until the paparazzi pointed out all his flaws. Kate wished people would see that Kate is on a different boat as Jon; Kate still wants the best for her kids.
Jon lives in New York, three hours away from his house. He feels like there's a place to go and is at the best of both worlds. The children ask Kate a lot of questions and she answers them as directly as possible. She doesn't want to look disparaging. Jon believes the situations are all about moving forward. Kate points out that the kids don't know about any of Jon's girlfriends. She doesn't see a future with Hailey.
The producers ask if anything good has happened in the past eight months and Kate believes she grew stronger. Kate now knows who her true friends are. She also now knows how valuable friendship is.
The producers then ask Kate how she feels when the kids tell stories about Jon's time with the kids. She is protective of the children. Jon and the Kids decide to raise money for a local fire company by having a lemonade stand. Mady and Cara weren't having the best of days and get upset with each other. They continue to talk back to each other. Mady retorts that Kate makes better activities and Jon gets upset. He kicks her off the table. Jon suggests that both Cara and Mady can't go because of their squabbling, he sends them home. Cara starts to cry and walks away.
Jon slices lemons and puts them in pitchers. He gets all the kids in the van and they head to the fire department. The crowd grew while Jon got the lemonade ready. The paparazzi was up close taking photos, but several bought lemonade. Jon realizes that it's his life now. Kate wonders what his intentions are and dislikes when the kids are caught in the cross-fire.
Jon left the sextuplets in the trust of the firefighters. The volunteer fire fighters toured the kids around the building. They got to play in the fire truck. The kids are all smiles as they look at the fire trucks and the boat. They watch the chief climb the fully extended ladder. The family took a quick dinner break. Jon was then volunteered to be in a firefighters suit. He realized how hard it was to be in a suit. The firefighters remind the kids that a firefighter is a good person. Each of the kids get to try on different accessories. The kids take a group picture, but Hannah didn't want to put the helmet on her head. They give the kids plastic helmets and small gifts. The family thanks the fire department and head home.
Kate gives the kids some cookies and milk, while reiterating a story about an organic farmer neighbor. Kate always wanted to show the kids real farm life. On a day off from school, the kids headed to the farm. Mady and Cara were a little upset, because they were in school. Kate told the kids to wear old shoes so they wouldn't get messy, so the kids wore old cowboy boots. The family decides to walk to Forrest Farm. Ironically they were safe from traffic because they were sandwiched between the production car and a paparazzi car. Although the kids whined, Kate knew that the kids could do it. The family eventually shows up at the tractor. Forrest puts the kids on the tractor and they head over to the cows. The kids get excited as they pass silos and cows.
The family was taken to grazing cows and they comment on chewing and utters. The family gets unloaded at the milking barn. They get to pet the cows and Forrest (the farm owner) points out that the cow was five. Leah finds a kitten and kids decide to play with the cat. Aaden and a few of the other kids squeeze utters. The kids are so happy about the cats they forget about the cows for a moment. Kate decides to get the kids to feed the baby calves. The kids were a little too loud and the cows got scared. The kids eventually feed the cows, but Leah got upset when she got the cow's slime all over her. The family moves over to the milking station and the kids hooked the cows to the milkers.
The kids take a break and get snacks. They also get fresh milk. Alexis compares milking to driving a car. The kids have several cups of milk. Kate is appreciative of the farm; she promises to bring the twins one day. Kate has to pry the kitten away from Alexis. Kate is a little upset that it was the last shoot because it feel like the show was taken away from her.
Kate didn't want her life to change. She always wanted Jon in the driver's seat, but was hoping that the work load of parenting would have equaled out. Jon still strives to be the best parents for the kids sake. Both have to take the initiative to make sure that the kids have the best childhood they could possibly have.
