Jon Gosselin Claims He Waited Before He Dated

According to People, a source told the publication that Jon Gosselin and new girlfriend Hailey Glassman did not begin their romance until after Kate filed for divorce on June 20.

The source said the two became acquainted when Gosselin, 32, was staying at Glassman's parents house during her visit home for Mother's Day.

Gosselin and plastic surgeon Lawrence Glassman have been friends since Kate Gosselin underwent a tummy tuck operation that was performed by Glassman, says People.com.

The source told the publication that Jon and Kate actually went their separate ways late last year. "She said she wanted her life. She said she was done. It came out of the blue," the source claimed.

"Jon was heartbroken, totally heartbroken. Kate told him to take a hike," the source added. Jon then moved out of the couple's bedroom and began sleeping elsewhere in the house, including an apartment above the Gosselin's garage.

"Hailey and I have been family friends for several years and only very recently began dating," Gosselin told People in the magazine's latest issue.

"I'm in a new period of my life and feel very free," Jon continued. "It's nice to be with someone who I can confide in and trust and who accepts me for who I am."
