Jon Gosselin Ordered to Return Money to Kate
Jon Gosselin, former reality-tv superstar has been ordered by a Pennsylvania judge to return money he withdrew from a joint bank account he shares with his currently seperated wife, Kate Gosselin, reports cnn.com.
Gosselin, of the TLC series, "Jon and Kate Plus 8," must return $180,000 of the $232,000 total that Kate claimed Jon withdrew without permission. The money was removed, apparently, against specific orders from their divorce arbitrator.
Kate's lawyer, Mark Momijan, released a statement on Tuesday saying, "The remaining sum of $55,000, which Ms. Gosselin used for household bills and expenses relating to the children, will be subject to further determination by the arbitrator at a later date."
Jon Gosselin has been given until October 26 to return the money. If he doesn't, he potentially faces the charge of contempt. Kate has duties of her own, and by this date must give a judge a list of what she has been using the expenses on.
Says Kate on the difficult issue, "As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the Court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children. Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues."
