The Jon Gosselin Saga

One minute, newly single Jon Gosselin is seen walking the streets of France with his presumed new gal-pal, Hailey Glassman. Next, a reporter for Star magazine confesses her love for Gosselin, and now - he claims he is single.

"At this point . . . I'm single – per se," Gosselin told People magazine at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field on Saturday. "I'm just a regular guy who just wants to have friendship and good times. And I like meeting people," Gosselin said.

Although he and Hailey Glassman, 22, looked quite cozy together, Gosselin says they are taking a break. "She's always a good friend of mine. Her family is so good. They took me in and I lived there for a while. I love them to death."

"She doesn't like this [craziness]. She loves me for who I am and not for what I do. We are going to chill out for a while and see where it takes us. I'm not looking for anyone," Gosselin said.

What about Kate Major, the Star magazine reporter who quit her job since falling under the Gosselin spotlight? Despite Major's claim that she has "fallen" for Gosselin, the feelings do not appear mutual.

"We are just friends," Gosselin said.

For now, Gosselin is trying to focus on his children - all eight of them. "I'm just trying to concentrate on my family first, second my career. That's what I have to do. I'm really looking forward to it – to turning my phone off, playing with my kids in the pool and being the dad," Gosselin said.
