Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers reportedly tried to commit suicide in his London mansion on Tuesday night, resulting in his hospitalization.

TMZ reports that Meyers attempted to take his life by overdosing on pills.

The Sun reports that The Tudors star, 33, was found on the floor in his home and refused treatment from paramedics, who were forced to call the police after 30 minutes.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard told People, "We can confirm we were called by the London Ambulance Service to an address in NW8 to report to a man refusing treatment. Police attended, and the man was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital. That was the end of our involvement."

Meyers has completed five stints in rehab and admitted his issues with drinking in the past. His last rehab stint was as early as this month, as he checked into a five-star center in South Africa.

The actor was released from the hospital early Wednesday.
