Josh Brolin Arrested For Domestic Battery

Wife and actress Diane Lane now denies charges.

According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Josh Brolin was arrested on a domestic battery charge Sunday morning. Police responded to a call from Brolin's wife, actress Diane Lane, officer Grace Brady told the New York Daily News.

The star of "Unfaithful" and Oscar-nominated actress now denies the incident, and describes it as a misunderstanding that went too far.

According to a representative for the couple, Diane did not want to press charges and asked them not to arrest him, but in cases involving the possibility of any physical contact, the police have to arrest first, ask questions later.

Actor Brolin was booked and released on $20,000 bail, according to the sheriff's department. They are home together and are embarrassed the matter went this far, the couple's spokesperson said of the actors who were married in August.

The Daily News cited a friend of the couple who said neither spouse was injured, but Brolin still faces a court date on the misdemeanor charge on Jan. 13.
