Joss Whedon, known for producing the TV series Buffy and Angel as well as the upcoming film The Avengers, is now turning his attention to adapting Shakespeare.
Actor Nathan Fillion tweeted a link to the new film, which is based on the play Much Ado About Nothing, and stating that principal photography has already been completed. Actor Sean Maher, who costars in the film(and previously worked on Whedon’s series Firefly) confirmed that filming on Ado wrapped Sunday.
The cast also includes Buffy and Angel alums like Fillion, Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof.
Whedon, who is a major Shakespeare buff, is already in postproduction of The Cabin in the Woods, which is due for release April 13. He is also developing a web series.
The play concerns the trials faced by two pairs of lovers: the outspoken Benedick and Beatrice and the more shy Claudio and Hero.
