The British actor could be making this one of his projects.

Jude Law currently has plans to once again return to the London stage. The actor earned rave reviews when he played the title role in Hamlet in 2009. However, there is also recent news pertaining to his movie career. Law is apparently in talks to act in Anna Karenina.

Just Jared reports that Law is in talks to be in the film, though has not officially signed on. Keira Knightley and Aaron Johnson will also star in the film.

According to The Los Angeles Times, there’s already a lot of buzz for the film. There’s a lot of speculation as to whether this film will earn an Oscar nomination, despite the fact that production details are still being ironed out. Previous versions of the film have not received Oscars, and many find this odd.

The original story of Anna Karenina is by Leo Tolstoy, and the screenplay for the most recent take on it will be done by Tom Stoppard, who has a great reputation in both the film and theater world.

The film will be directed by Joe Wright who also directed Atonement, so the involvement of the writer and director as well as star, Knightley, is likely what’s leading to so much debate and anticipation.
