Jude Law Wants Proof

Samantha Burke, 24, has recently named Jude Law, 35, as the father of her unborn child. She claims they met while Law was filming "Sherlock Holmes" in New York City last December. Burke is currently seven months pregnant with a baby girl, who she has already named Sophia.

The Daily Mail reports that Law has demanded a paternity test, which can not be done until after the child is born, to minimize the risks of harming the fetus.

On Saturday, Burke and her lawyer made a statement to reporters denying all interviews. Her lawyer stated that, "This is a private matter between Jude Law and Samantha Burke…Jude has been responsive and supportive throughout the relationship and pregnancy and know that he will remain so as a father once baby Sophia is born."

Burke has been staying at her mother's home in Pensacola, Fla., and also requested that the press respect her privacy during the remainder of her pregnancy.

According to TMZ.com, the baby girl is due on Oct. 6 2009.
