A judge has decided to open to the public the custody dispute between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnson.
Palin, the daughter of former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, sought to keep the custody case over her 1-year-old son, Tripp, confidential. She filed for full custody of the child in November, and argued that her family provided almost all the care. She asserted that her ex-boyfriend and Tripp's father was "not yet mature enough" to handle parental responsibilities.
Johnson, who recently appeared in Playgirl magazine and has been sparring publicly with Sarah Palin, wants to share custody. He also wants to keep the case public to ensure everyone involved is on their best behavior.
