Julianna Margulies Not Returning to "ER"
With its 15th and final season getting ready to wrap up, ER has been looking to bring back some of its departed cast members as guest stars. Julianna Margulies won't be one of them.
"I feel like I left Carol Hathaway in the best scenario possible," Margulies said to the Associated Press about the nurse she played on the show. "I can't imagine making it any better than that."
On last Thursday's episode, Anthony Edwards appeared as his deceased character, Dr. Mark Greene, in flashback sequences. He won't be the only one scrubbing in on the NBC drama. Noah Wyle will also be in an episode, while Eriq La Salle will direct an episode in the future.
As for George Clooney, who played Margulies's beau, Dr. Doug Ross, on the show, it's still up in the air if he will be coming back. When she left the show in 2000, she was reportedly offered $27 million to stay for three more seasons.
Margulies left to move to New York and do other projects. The 42-year-old actress still lives there, now with her husband, Keith Lieberthal, and their 10-month-old son, Kieran.
