Modern Family’s Julie Bowen went full-on glamor at the Golden Globes on Sunday night. The actress wore a nude-colored floor-length gown by Reem Acra, which had her feeling like a princess.

“I’m trying to look like a girl,” she told Ryan Seacrest on E!’s Live from the Red Carpet. “It’s just very girly for me.”

The actress says her gown was longer than her wedding dress.

“When I got married I didn’t even wear a full-length gown,” she said, adding jokingly, “I wore a pant suit.”

“I wore [a] tea-length [gown at my wedding], and it was pretty, but it was not like this. So, I’m having my girl moment.”

Bowen not only had her “girl moment” at the Globes, but a winning moment, as Modern Family won the award for Best TV Series Comedy or Musical. Bowen had doubts, though, since her morning went so smoothly.

At the Emmy’s last year, Bowen had a horror story of a morning, but the TV series ended up walking away a winner, and Bowen a winner herself..

“My husband asked me, ‘should I have one of the kids throw up on you so you’ll win,’” she said referencing what happened before Emmy night. “Today went flawlessly…so I don’t think [we’re] going to win.”
