Justin Bieber and PhoneGuard Inc. have announced the launch of a new campaign that is dedicated to stopping people from texting and driving.
Bieber will be working alongside the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, a foundation organized by the family of Alex Brown, a teen who died while she was texting and driving.
“As a 17-year-old driver, I am aware of the countless distractions that we teenagers face on the road, and texting is one that is preventable,” Bieber said about his campaign.
“There are too many young people, like Alex Brown, whom we’ve lost because of texting while driving, and it is my hope that, through this partnership with PhoneGuard, we will raise awareness of this issue and create safer conditions for everyone on the road.”
Bieber’s campaign promotes responsible texting through a new cell phone application that disables texting, emailing and keyboard function if you’re driving faster than 10 mph.
