Justin Timberlake Explains his Fashion Inspirations

Everyone wants to look like a rock star, or at the very least, dress like one.

That’s what Justin Timberlake thinks. And that is exactly how he gets inspired when he sits down with his friend, Trace Ayala, and designs his William Rast fashion line.

Justin told MTV: “Well, I think since the beginning of rock and roll, people have wanted to dress like rock stars.”

Timberlake also called the correlation between music and fashion design pretty blatant.

He also said that fans at the forefront of his mind when he designs.

“I think the things we’re most happy about is that so many runway shows you go to and you go, ‘That was an amazing. What an art piece.’ But then it’s like, you’ll never see that ever again…I think we were able to really focus on being consumer-based. A lot of what you’ll see on the runway is very wearable.”
