Justin Timberlake Merging Fashion and Music

Timberlake thinks that everyone wants to 'dress like a rock star.'

Justin Timberlake is merging the worlds of music and fashion in new designs for his clothing line, William Rast.

The theme for the collection is “the Midwest and nomadic discoverer meets biker culture,” Timberlake says, but a lot of his designs are influenced from rock and roll.

“Well, I think since the beginning of rock and roll, people have wanted to dress like rock stars,” he told MTV at New York’s Fashion Week.

And Timberlake is no different. “I still find old Mick Jagger jackets that I wish I could pull out of his closet or something. Of course, they wouldn't fit me. Very tight,” he joked.

Timberlake thinks that his clothes will translate well from the runways to everyday life.

“I think the thing we're most happy about is that so many runway shows you go to and you go, ‘That was an amazing piece. What an art piece,’ but then it's like, you'll never see that ever again,” he said. “I think we were able to really focus on being consumer-based. A lot of what you'll see on the runway is very wearable.”
