Kal Penn Gets Job in Obama White House

The "Harold and Kumar" actor was named to a liaison position in the Obama administration, Tuesday.

According to the Associated Press, actor Kal Penn, 31, has been named associate director in the Office of Public Liasion. Penn will act as liaison between the White House and arts groups.

Shin Inouye, White House spokesman, announced Tuesday that Penn's role would consist of associating President Obama with both the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities. He will also serve the same function with arts and entertainment groups.

Penn is best known for portraying Kumar in the "Harold and Kumar" franchise of films. His character on FOX's House committed suicide on Monday's episode.

Penn campaigned for Obama during the last election. According to the White House, no start date has been set for Penn.
