Kate Hudson wins libel suit
Star receives apology after National Inquirer printed article about her weight
Actress Kate Hudson has accepted libel damages from the British edition of the National Enquirer that reported she was dangerously thin.
The magazine will also print an apology to the actress, but the amount of the settlement was not disclosed, Hudson's lawyer Simon Smith told the Associated Press. The magazine article said she was "way too thin" and was like "skin and bones."
American Media Inc. - the American publisher of the National Inquirer - issued a statement saying, they apologized for "the deep distress and acute embarrassment" and admitted the article was false.
