Katherine Heigl is all about Girl Power

Katherine Heigl is on the cover of the U.K. edition of Marie Claire.

Katherine Heigl, known as Izzie Stevens on the ABC show "Grey's Anatomy," is on the latest cover of the U.K. edition of Marie Claire. In her interview with the magazine, Heigl shows that she is not afraid of being opinionated and believes in women power.
Her opinions, Heigl confesses, have gotten her "a lot of crap from people" who think "she shouldn't have an opinion."
This is something she deals with and doesn't stop her from saying what she thinks. She explains how she has evolved as a person.
"I look back at my twenties and see that I was much less confident. You repress how you really feel because society tells us what women think isn't valid, that we're frivolous and shallow," she said.
The non-bra-burning feminist said she is a firm believer in "women owning their power."
Her latest film, "The Ugly Truth," explore male manipulations, something she thinks "women innately know how to do play their hand."
In the future, Heigl may get involved with "more serious" roles, but is OK sticking with romantic comedies for now like "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses."
"I'm not quite there yet," she said.
