Katherine Heigl Hosts Baby Shower for Ellen Pompeo

Grey's Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl hosted a baby shower for co-star Ellen Pompeo, Saturday. Expectant mother Pompeo is expecting a baby girl in October with husband Chris Ivery.

The party, held at Heigl's Los Feliz home, was a pink-themed outdoor affair. The guests took refuge from the scorching heat under umbrellas in Heigl's backyard. Partygoers included Kate Walsh, Sandra Oh, Rebecca Gayheart, and about 20 other friends.

Of Pompeo's radiant appearance, an eyewitness said, "Ellen looked gorgeous in a white summer dress with her hair in a braided up-do. She seemed very excited to celebrate with her girlfriends," reported People.

Pompeo received a bevy of gifts from the Juvenile Shop in Sherman Oaks, where Pompeo is registered. Among the presents were a Sleep Sheep toy mobile, Sleepy Safari stacking toys, organic hooded towels and a Kiddopotamus organic swaddle wrap.

The sixth season of "Grey's Anatomy" premieres on ABC, September 24.
