Katherine Jackson Gets Custody of Son's Children

Michael Jackson's mother and his ex-wife have reached an agreement on the future of his children.

Michael Jackson's Mother, Katherine Jackson, will get permanent custody of the late entertainer's three children after reaching an agreement with his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, Reuters reports.

A lawyer for Katherine told CBS News on Thursday that Rowe will have "meaningful visitation rights" with 12-year-old Prince Michael and 11-year-old Paris, her two biological children with Jackson.

Jackson's 79-year-old mother was granted temporary custody of the children after his death on June 25.

According to the New York Daily News, Jackson appointed his mother guardian of his three children in his will, including Prince Michael II (Blanket), whose biological mother has never been revealed.

The deal reached today follows several weeks of negotiations with Rowe. Despite speculation that Rowe was out to make millions in a custody deal, Katherine's attorney, Londell McMillan, said it is not a money deal and that the agreement has been made based on what is best for the children.

The deal could be approved at a hearing in Los Angeles on Monday.
