Katy Perry attends her first red carpet event as a blonde

Katy Perry has long been known for her jet black locks, pinup style, and a flirty and fun personality. She still has plenty of style and personality, but her black locks are gone.

Perry, 26, a natural blonde, had been in the process of lightening her hair since early June. After a brief time as a redhead, the singer – who surprised fans as a blonde while helping announce the MTV VMA nominations last week – has officially debuted her new blonde ‘do.

Perry attended the premiere of The Smurfs at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City on Sunday. The singer, who voices Smurfette, was looking a lot like her character, though she wasn't quite as blue.

Perry walked the blue carpet and posed for pictures with some of her co-stars wearing blue pumps, Smurf-inspired nails, a white mini dress that featured a sequin Smurfette, and blue eyeshadow.
