Katy Perry celebrated her VMA wins solo

Katy Perry and Russell Brand showed their affection for each other at the Video Music Awards on Sunday, but although Brand was there to lend his support to his wife during the show, he didn’t accompany her to the after parties, he headed straight home.

According to The Daily Mail, Perry, 26, celebrated her three VMA wins at the House of Hype party, also attended by Britney Spears, Malin Akerman, Emma Roberts, Akon and Jamie Foxx. She was accompanied by a few of her best girlfriends, her manager, and her hair stylist, who dined on filet mignon.

Brand’s absence shouldn’t cause the fans to worry about the couple, who will celebrate their first wedding anniversary in October.

Despite countless breakup rumors recently, they looked lovey-dovey for photos and during the awards. Perry also considers him the perfect gentleman.

"He is a gentleman," she told MTV News of Brand. "Chivalry isn't dead."

Brand’s absence could have been an effort to resist temptation. The 36-year-old Arthur star has been open about his past addictions. When he does decide to party, he sticks with a bottle of water.
