Katy Perry emerges out of hiding to pose for a picture with a fan in Santa Barbara

Katy Perry backed out of the People’s Choice Awards, which would’ve been her first public appearance since announcing her split from Russell Brand.

She has since emerged, since being in a hiding of sorts, sporting blue hair.

E! Online reports that Perry was leaving the set of a commercial for the sportswear company Adidas in Santa Barbara, California.

She stopped to pose with fan Eric Berlanger, who told U.K.’s The Sun that the “California Dreams” star "was great, really nice, she seemed happy.”

He added, "It was great to see her, I have met her a couple times before and I am a big fan!”

She seemed to be happy to see him, also as she recognized him. “She was in a van and saw me. I waved and she made the driver of the van stop and she lowered the window and I went up to her and she put out her hand and said: 'Hey its good to see you again!’” he said.

"I said the same and then I asked if I could take a picture with her and she said yes and got out of the van and gave me a hug and told me I smell good, then we took the two pictures,” he continued to explain.

Earlier this week, moving vans were seen at the home that Perry shared with her estranged husband, Russell Brand.
