The Grammys just keep getting more exciting.
On Tuesday it was announced that Adele would be making her first appearance since undergoing throat surgery at this month’s Grammys, and now it’s been announced that “California Gurls” singer Katy Perry will perform as well.
MTV News reports that Perry is up for two Grammy awards; Record of the Year for “Firework” and Best Pop Solo Performance.
In 2009, Perry performed her breakthrough single, "I Kissed a Girl." The following year she performed “California Gurls” at the Grammy Nominations show and last year, Perry performed "Not Like the Movies" and "Teenage Dream." She shocked fans by including private footage from her wedding to Russell Brand, whom she is now separated from.
CBS News reports that this performance on February 12 will be Perry’s first since announcing her split from Get Him to the Greek actor, Brand, after just a year of marriage.
In addition to Adele and Perry, other performers include Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, the Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
LL Cool J will serve as host of the show, and Kanye West leads the pack with the most nominations with seven. Adele, Bruno Mars and the Foo Fighters have six nods.
