Katy Perry Starts the Year Off with a Tour
The year 2008 was a great year for pop-star newbie Katy Perry with her hit singles, "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold." So what's on the agenda for 2009? Her first headlining tour, of course!
Billboard reports that Perry will play in theaters with 1,000-2,000 seats. As well as the 30 US/Canada dates listed on her official Web site, katyperry.com, she will also be making stops in Europe and Japan.
But even though the venues are small, Perry tells Billboard that her show won't be a simple one. "I have the guy who creates stages for Madonna working on this tour," she said. Included on stage will be her love of fruit and cats, as well as designing different outfits she'll be wearing.
The ambitious Perry would also like to eventually create a clothing line based on her own style. But for now, fans should look for her concerts in a city near them through this summer.
