Katy Perry Sues Katie Perry

Singer Katy Perry is suing Katie Perry, an Australian fashion designer, and asking her to change her name, Hollyscoop.com reported.

"I got such a huge shock," Katie said. "It really felt like I was being intimidated and bullied into signing everything away."

According to MTV.com, the cease-and-desist order came after Katie opened her first retail outlet in Sidney and filed to trademark her name for the store. Her birth name is Katie Jane Perry.

The Australian designer said that the letter asked her to give up her trademark and withdraw the sales of her clothes, advertisements, and websites. In addition, she said she was asked to sign that she won't use similar trademarks to Katy Perry in the future, Hollyscoop reports.

"I love my business. I'm not going to give it away without a fight either," she said. "I'm not trying to become a singer. I'm not pretending to be her. This is my income. And it's the livelihood of my contractors as well."

There has been no comment from Katy.
