Keith Richards to Write Autobiography

The Rolling Stone will (hopefully) air every sordid detail in the upcoming book.

The many people who are aching to know every detail of Keith Richards' life of heroin-taking, whore-mongering, and guitar-playing are in for a treat: the Rolling Stone will publish his memoirs in 2010. He is being paid ú3.6 million to write the book by publishers Little, Brown and Company; James Fox, author and friend, will assist him in writing it. In addition to his life of debauchery, Richards is well known for his dry, cynical wit, which makes the prospect of his autobiography especially enticing. Michael Pietsch, from the publishers, described the bits of Richards' writing he has read as "delicious;" he also said, "For nearly 50 years Keith has been at the center of the vortex of stardom and entertainment as a cultural force. To have the story of his own life in one book -- there's no experience like that. There will be stories he has never uttered before."
