Kelly Clarkson Climbs Back to the Top
Kelly Clarkson is making her way back onto the music scene.
Her latest album, All I Ever Wanted, has made it to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard album chart, according to the New York Times. It sold 255,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
In second place is The-Dream's Love vs. Money with 151,000 copies sold. U2's No Line on the Horizon is now in third with 132,000 copies.
Clarkson, winner of the first edition of American Idol, promoted the new album with a performance of her No. 1 single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," on last week's episode of the show. She broke a Billboard record back in January when the single jumped 97 places in one week, according to the L.A. Times.
Due to her recent success, it is now speculated that Clarkson may receive a Grammy nomination.
Her last album, Breakaway, sold 6 million copies and won Clarkson two Grammy Awards, one for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and the other for Best Pop Album.
