Kelly Clarkson Defends 'American Idol'

The AI winner recently commented on remarks made by Taylor Swift's record label.

When Taylor Swift’s record label defended their artist and her recent shaky performances, they inadvertently offended Kelly Clarkson.

Scott Borchetta, the CEO of Swift’s record label, Big Machine Records, recently said “"This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note This is about a true artist and writer and communicator," according to People.

This didn’t sit well with Clarkson who People reported took to her blog to come to the defense of American Idol.

“ ... you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the 'right' notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better,” Clarkson posted.

Clarkson said that she did not mean her comments to be taken negatively towards Swift, and that she is a big fan of her music, People reported.
