Kelly Osbourne Comes Clean About Being Clean
According to MTV News, singer and former reality TV star Kelly Osbourne, 24, is saying that she has finally broken her addiction to painkillers.
Osbourne was enrolled in rehab twice before attending a 30-day stint this year. Osbourne said she has been abusing painkillers since the age of 13.
Osbourne said, "I had my tonsils taken out [at age 13], and they gave me liquid Vicodin. I found, when I take this, people like me. I'm having fun, I'm not getting picked on. It became a confidence thing."
Reports came to light in January that Osbourne had been placed under arrest in London for allegedly slapping a British gossip columnist in August 2008. Osbourne checked herself into rehab soon after.
Sharon Osbourne, Kelly's mother, wouldn't say at first why Kelly was entering rehab, but later mentioned the fact that she was in need of some help.
Osbourne said, "She knew that it was the right thing to do at this point, and we're proud that she did it. The family is all standing behind her. Kelly knew that she needed help and she's getting it. . . . We just pray that everything's going to be OK."
